Creed

Offering affordable wild game fishing for locals and visitors alike, the SAA is the current leaseholder of the fishing rights for the River Creed system which is a 4 mile long migratory spate fishery (salmon & sea trout) consisting of 20 named pools and 2 lochs, with the main access points being in easy reach of the town of Stornoway.

With fish in recent years caught up to 13lbs, the season starts on the 1st of April when, depending on water levels, anglers can enjoy the hunt for the odd springer until the main runs are traditionally expected around late June/ early July. The season closes on the 31st October subject to water conditions. By law, no salmon and sea trout fishing is permitted on Sundays in Scotland.

In addition, the SAA has access to a good number of wild brown trout lochs (some with boats) in and around Stornoway. The brown trout season runs from the 15th March to 6th October annually.
