The quality of the salmon and sea trout fishing on the Amhuinnsuidhe Estate is unsurpassed. The freshwater loch and river systems are all in remote and beautiful surroundings, yet most are accessible by vehicle or on foot.
Except when the rivers are in spate, most of the fishing is done Hebridean style from a boat. We offer traditional loch-style fishing for up to 10/12 rods from the nine estate boats. We have five resident ghillies to look after guests, and their company and thorough knowledge of the area are a major factor in the enjoyment of the day.
The sea trout start to run in June, with salmon a week or two later. Weights are comparable with those found in similar waters in Scotland and Ireland, although numbers are generally greater. Sea trout average 2lbs, with salmon averaging 5lbs.
Weather and availability of staff permitting, excellent sea fishing is also available to those staying at the castle.
Enjoy exclusive use of Amhuinnsuidhe Castle, a stone-built Scottish baronial castle, with outstanding views out across the sea and the rugged Hebridean coastline. Exclusive use consists of a 7-night stay with full bed and board, with either the 12-room or 18-room packages, fishing is included with optional extras, including stalking, wild fowling and clay pigeon shooting upon request.
Alternatively, there are a limited number of weeks set a-side as Mixed Rod weeks, whereby individual rooms are let out for 7-nights with full bed and board, with a maximum capacity of 10 rods for the week, fishing in groups of 2 with an experienced estate ghillie, fishing from bank or boat.
A visit to Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate lets you experience the facilities of one of the finest sporting estates in Scotland whether on an exclusive use basis or individual Mixed Rod week.
